How can we help?

Answers about buying, bidding, selling, fees, delivery and event changes. Can't find it? Email seatbid.support@gmail.com.

Seatbid is in pre-launch. You can apply to sell, submit tickets for review and join the launch list. Buying, bidding, offers, payments and payouts aren't open yet. Answers marked Planned describe how we intend them to work at launch. Details may change, and the final terms will be shown before you buy or sell.

Getting started

What Seatbid is and what you can do today.

What is Seatbid?

Seatbid is a marketplace for buying and selling tickets to live events: concerts, sports, theatre, comedy, festivals and more. Buy at a fixed price, place a bid in an auction, or make the seller an offer. Fans pay no platform fee, and sellers pay a commission only when their tickets sell.

Can I buy tickets today?

Not yet. Purchases, bids and offers are switched off while we finish payments, seller verification and our policies. Join the launch list to hear when sales open.

What can I do right now?
  • Browse seller-submitted listings that our team has reviewed.
  • Apply to become a founding seller.
  • Submit tickets for review, so they're ready for launch.
  • Join the launch list.
  • Send us a support message from My account.
Where is Seatbid available?

Anyone can browse from anywhere. Buying and selling will open market by market, as each country or region is approved. The first market hasn't been announced yet.

How do I sign in?

Seatbid uses ChatGPT sign-in during early access, so you don't need a separate password. Select Sign in on the marketplace.

Buying Planned

How buying is planned to work when sales open.

What fees do buyers pay?

No platform fee. You pay the ticket price, plus any tax that the law requires, shown before you pay. There's no extra fee added at checkout.

What will a listing tell me?

Every listing shows the event, venue, date and local time, section, row and exact seat numbers (or general admission), how many tickets are in the group, whether the seats are together, and any restrictions such as an obstructed view or an age limit. Tickets are sold as a whole group and aren't split.

How will I get my tickets?

Most tickets are mobile. After you buy, the seller sends them to you through the ticketing company's app (for example Ticketmaster, AXS or a team or venue app), using the name and email you give at checkout. Your order shows the delivery deadline. When the tickets arrive, confirm it in your order.

Make sure the name and email you enter match the account you'll use to receive the tickets.

What if my tickets don't arrive or don't work?

We're planning a Buyer Guarantee. If your tickets don't arrive by the deadline, don't get you in, or are materially different from the listing, we'll give you a full refund or comparable replacement tickets where we can find them. The full guarantee will be published before sales open.

If anything goes wrong, contact us straight away. If you're refused entry at the venue, ask staff for the reason.

Can I get a refund if I can't go?

Changing your mind isn't usually covered. You'll be able to relist the tickets instead; we'll confirm how that works at launch. Refunds for cancelled events are covered under Event changes.

Bids & offers Planned

Three ways to deal: buy now, auction or offer.

How do auctions work?

Sellers can run a timed auction with a starting price and minimum bid steps. Bids are recorded in the order our server receives them. A bid in the last two minutes adds two more minutes, so nobody gets sniped at the buzzer. Sellers can set a private reserve price; if it isn't met, there's no sale.

Your bid is binding: if you win, you're committed to buy.

How do offers work?

Name your price on a listing that accepts offers. The seller can accept, decline or counter. Each offer has a clear expiry time, and only the latest version can be accepted. If the seller accepts, the tickets are reserved for you to complete the purchase.

Does bidding or making offers cost anything?

No. Bidding and offers are free. You only pay if you win the auction or your offer is accepted.

Selling

You can apply and submit tickets today. Selling opens later.

How do I start selling?
  1. Sign in and open Sell tickets.
  2. Send the seller application. It takes about two minutes.
  3. Submit your tickets for review: event, venue, date and time, section, row, seats, quantity and any restrictions.

Our team reviews every listing for accuracy before anyone can see it. This review checks the content of the listing. It isn't yet a check of your identity or that you own the tickets; those checks are coming before sales open.

What does it cost to sell?

Listing is free. When your tickets sell, Seatbid keeps a planned 13% commission on the ticket subtotal, and you receive the rest.

ExampleAmount
2 tickets × $120$240.00
Seatbid commission (13%)−$31.20
You receive$208.80

This is planned pricing. A small minimum commission may apply in some currencies, and the final terms are shown before you list.

What tickets can I list?

Only tickets you own, that you're allowed to resell, and that you can transfer to a buyer. No speculative listings for tickets you haven't bought yet. Check the event's transfer and resale rules first: some events lock transfers until close to the date, or don't allow resale at all.

How will I deliver tickets and get paid?

Planned. When your tickets sell, you'll see the buyer's name and email and a delivery deadline. Send the tickets using Transfer in the ticketing app you bought them from, then mark the order as transferred.

Payouts go through Stripe to your own seller account. We never see your full bank details. Payment is released after delivery is confirmed, and may be held until shortly after the event to protect buyers.

What happens if something goes wrong with a sale?

If tickets are late, invalid or not as described, the buyer is refunded and your payout is cancelled. You may also have to cover the cost of replacement tickets. Repeated problems, or any sign of fraud, lead to your account being suspended. If you sell tickets on Seatbid and the event is cancelled, you must not keep the organiser's refund for them.

Event changes Planned

What's planned to happen when an event is cancelled, postponed or moved.

What if an event is cancelled?

You get a full refund automatically, including any tax you paid. There's no claim to make. The seller receives no payout.

What if an event is postponed or rescheduled?

Your tickets normally stay valid for the new date. While it's postponed, we hold the seller's payment. If no new date is announced within a set time, or the event is cancelled, you're refunded in full. If the organiser offers refunds to everyone for a rescheduled date, you'll be able to ask us for one before the organiser's deadline.

What about venue, lineup or team changes?

The organiser's policy applies to lineup and team changes. If the event moves venue and your new seats are clearly worse than what you bought, contact us and we'll review it under the Buyer Guarantee.

Account & safety

Keeping your account, your money and your tickets safe.

What will Seatbid never ask me for?

We'll never ask you by email, message or social media for your password, card number, bank details, ID documents or ticket barcodes. We'll also never ask you to pay outside Seatbid. If someone does, it isn't us: please forward it to seatbid.support@gmail.com.

Is it safe to buy from someone I met through Seatbid outside the site?

No. Deals made outside Seatbid aren't covered by any Seatbid protection, and they're the most common way fans lose money to fake tickets. Always keep the purchase on Seatbid once sales open.

What data does Seatbid keep?

Your sign-in details, seller application, listings, launch-list choices and support messages. Read Privacy & data for the details, including how to ask for your data to be corrected or deleted.

How do I leave the launch list or close my account?

To leave the launch list, cancel it in My account. To close your account or delete your data, send a support request or email seatbid.support@gmail.com. We'll confirm the request comes from you first.

No answers match that search. Try different words, or email seatbid.support@gmail.com.

Still need help?

Email us and a real person will reply. Signed-in members can also send a support message, and replies appear in My account.
